The bible on a shelf

Bismillahir Rahmaanir Raheem

I have a few copies of the bible from my christian days; a study bible, a catholic bible with the apocrapha, and a bible that was left to me by my dear childhood friend when she passed away at the age of 19. There are also bibles everywhere one goes away, nowadays, usually shoved into a drawer in a room where who-knows-what goes on. Not very respectful, in the eyes of Islam. Books of religious nature (Islamic ones are referred to as kitaabs (books of teaching)) are always stored at heart level or above, ideally on a top shelf somewhere safe, and covered so as to be kept clean. The Quran is stored above all other kitaabs due to its importance.

If you were to enter any muslim home with a bible, you will find that it is given the same respect, and hopefully not shoved into some drawer like a dirty novel.

We believe in the Torah, the old testament, and in the Injeel (the teachings of Jesus, or Essa (as) as we call him in Arabic). We know, however, that the original texts have been altered so tremendously that the real message has been changed and not just in simple terms. So when we refer to the "people of the book" we are speaking about the people of the Torah and of the Injeel. We do not agree completely with what is written in the Torah as it stands now because it has deviated so far from what was given to Moses (Musa (as)) He broke the tablets which had taken 40 days and nights to write, when he came down from the mountain to find the golden calf. We know that since then it has been altered and certain things removed therefrom. We accept only the original version and since that has now disappeared, we accept that the faith has been tainted. We also do not agree with the New Testament as it now stands because one man came along and decided what to take out and what to include, and that decision was based on political thirst at the time, easily proved and easily checked. At the time of the compilation of the bible as it now stands in its over 28 000 versions (some varying tremendously and some with slight variations only big enough to account for a new denomination) there were many things afoot which the then king wanted to swing his way. Don't take my word for it - do the homework.

Case in point:

THE QURAN

                                                                                             THE BIBLE?/S

Before looking at the pictures below, bear in mind Matthew 5:18 (here are a few translations)

New International Version (©1984)
"I tell you the truth, until heaven and earth disappear, not the smallest letter, not the least stroke of a pen, will by any means disappear from the Law until everything is accomplished."  (just in case someone tells you the New testament says one doesn't need the law)

New Living Translation (©2007)
"I tell you the truth, until heaven and earth disappear, not even the smallest detail of God's law will disappear until its purpose is achieved." (so GOD made the law!)

English Standard Version (©2001)
"For truly, I say to you, until heaven and earth pass away, not an iota, not a dot, will pass from the Law until all is accomplished. " (So why if not an iota or a dot would change, has this quote changed from above?"

New American Standard Bible (©1995)
"For truly I say to you, until heaven and earth pass away, not the smallest letter or stroke shall pass from the Law until all is accomplished. "

King James Bible (Cambridge Ed.)
"For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled." (In other words, it will not change in ANY WAY - I guess when you're changing the words, its not convenient to leave that bit in. Isn't the King James Version supposed to be the earliest?
International Standard Version (©2008)
because I tell you with certainty that until heaven and earth disappear, not one letter or one stroke of a letter will disappear from the Law until everything has been accomplished. (erm... but what is "everything" or is that straightforward? Christians will interpret this to mean the "death" of the Christ.. but that's not what it says, is it? WHO changed that little (or is it big) teaching?)

Aramaic Bible in Plain English (©2010)
"Amen, I say to you that until Heaven and earth will pass away, one Yodh or one Taag and will not pass away from The Written Law until everything will happen." NOTHING WILL CHANGE FROM THE WRITTEN LAW - erm.. all the written bibles HAVE been changed and all differ!.   GOD'S WORD® Translation (©1995)
"I can guarantee this truth: Until the earth and the heavens disappear, neither a period nor a comma will disappear from Moses' Teachings before everything has come true. " (OH ! It's not God's law, its MOSES' teachings!! Why didn't you SAY SO!! But wait.. didn't MOSES teach OBEY GOD and NO-ONE ELSE?hmmm....)   King James 2000 Bible (©2003)
"For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass away, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled. " (there's that nigly "in no wise" - because it has changed in many wises (ways))   American King James Version
"For truly I say to you, Till heaven and earth pass, one stroke or one pronunciation mark shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled." (The bible speaks of judgement day, of the resurrection of the dead - has THAT been fulfilled that the LAW is abolished, or is the word "ALL BE FULFILLED" open to interpretation? GOD's WORD would not be open to interpretation. He is "a God of chaos, not disorder" says the bible)    American Standard Version
"For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass away, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass away from the law, till all things be accomplished." (Does that exclude the book of Revelation, about judgement day, then? because apparently due to Jesus the law HAS passed?)    Douay-Rheims Bible
"For amen I say unto you, till heaven and earth pass, one jot, or one tittle shall not pass of the law, till all be fulfilled. " (there's that ALL again...)   Darby Bible Translation
"For verily I say unto you, Until the heaven and the earth pass away, one iota or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law till all come to pass. " (No matter how much you change it, it keeps telling you not to change it.. is it just ME or is that DISORDER?)   English Revised Version
"For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass away, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass away from the law, till all things be accomplished. " (Verily - in truth. Others say AMEN (as God wills it)) hmmm... but still they do not HEAR!! STOP CHANGING THE WORDS AND KEEPING THE VERSE THAT SAYS IT SHOULD NOT BE CHANGED YOU ARE ONLY CONDEMNING YOURSELVES, PEOPLE!!)   Webster's Bible Translation
"For verily I say to you, Till heaven and earth shall pass away, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled. " (ALL - sigh....)   Weymouth New Testament
"Solemnly I tell you that until Heaven and earth pass away, not one iota or smallest detail will pass away from the Law until all has taken place. "   World English Bible
"For most certainly, I tell you, until heaven and earth pass away, not even one smallest letter or one tiny pen stroke shall in any way pass away from the law, until all things are accomplished."
Young's Literal Translation
"for, verily I say to you, till that the heaven and the earth may pass away, one iota or one tittle may not pass away from the
law, till that all may come to pass."

THE CHERRY ON TOP? -  after pointing out all these changes, my christian friends will say "you see, its just small changes, but it actually remains the same. How is that LOGICAL? In one, it is the LAW OF GOD, in another it is the teachings of MOSES and in another its just THE WRITTEN WORD. Now these may be semantics but if GOD HAD UTTERED THESE WORDS, they would surely not be semantics to HIM!! And if you argue that point anyway, you miss the MESSAGE - which is 1)THE LAW STANDS UNTIL THE END (including judgement day) BECAUSE IT IS THE LAW OF GOD
2) LISTEN TO MOSES since you say it actually says MOSES' teachings, in which case you're worshipping the wrong person by praying to saints or asking of the christ what only the CREATOR can give
2) YOU ARE NOT TO ALTER THE WRITTEN WORD - HELLO!! - Let me repeat that - YOU ARE NOT TO ALTER THE WRITTEN WORD - oh.. wait... it was altered radically in a way that one cannot go back on, at the council of Nicene.. and by a king with an agenda.. scrap that..

So Christians have really got no choice but to pick a version of the bible and then follow that.. sounds like building a house on sand to me.. but wait - isn't there a scripture that says in the bible NOT to build your house on sand? I'm stumped! THe bible disproves the bible and warns against itself? Better go back to the earliest version of "the bible"

Here it is..

(Erm... As opposed to the Un-Authorized version? - okidoki... there's a reason I became a MUSLIM, alhamdolilah. I'm not mocking - I'm deliberately pointing out the inconsistencies. "There is none so blind as those who WILL NOT SEE." If "God said it and that does it" as Christians say, then why keep changing what you think he said..)

Okay - let's skip the King James version.. let's head out to the Catholic ground...

CATHOLIC BIBLE:  What was the revision for? Does one revise "the word of God" if this is what
                                                                      one calls it?

Note: the APOCRAPHA is sometimes left in, sometimes left out. The catholic bible says women may not preach. It says a women is beneath a man (Eclesiastes 2, also left out of the newer "approved versions")...

MARTIAN bible - oh no, wait, this one is changed so that it focusses on the EARTH as mother nature.. erm... can anyone say "NEW AGE" ?

Along comes America and revises the NEW testament (Catholic Edition) - does anyone else see a pyramid theme in this cover, or is it just me? Looks like the Illuminati is running circles around this one!

BUT WAIT - there's more - along comes "Saint Joseph" and changes the "word of god" which Matthew says God said shouldn't be changed.

May I leave you with these thoughts:
1) The bible, said to be GOD's word, and ordered not to be altered has been altered
2) Alterations have led to radical changes (in doubt, check out your local IRA office!)
3) There are over 50 000 denominations of christianity excluding branches of "quasi christianity" as called by other christians

So please, DON'T USE the bible to tell me what's the truth, when you can't decide A) what bible to use and B) what the original was

IN JUXTAPOSITION - There is ONE quran. It has remained the same forever. Wether you go to CHINA or you go to the jungles of Africa, if there's a muslim with the QURAN he will recite it with the same words, the same phrasing, the same law.
IT IS NOT RELIGION THAT KILLS PEOPLE - it is people who kill people.

People of the Torah, and people of the Bible - STOP killing us muslims just because you can't decide on which book to throw at us!

Thank you.
